Phil Pfister is an American former professional strongman who was born on October 5, 1971, in Charleston, West Virginia. He is best known for winning the title of World's Strongest Man in 2006, becoming the first American to do so since Bill Kazmaier in 1982.
Pfister began his strongman career in the late 1990s and quickly rose to prominence in the sport. He was known for his massive size, standing at 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing over 300 pounds.
In addition to his World's Strongest Man title, Pfister also had a successful career competing in various strongman competitions around the world. He retired from competitive strongman in 2008 but has remained involved in the sport as a commentator and coach.
Outside of strongman, Pfister is a licensed physical therapist and has worked in the healthcare industry. He is also a motivational speaker, sharing his experiences and insights on strength training, perseverance, and achieving goals.
